  Principle of liquid level measurement - ultrasonic  
     
  The transmitter of the ultrasonic liquid level sensor emits short ultrasonic pulses to the measured medium at a frequency of 70kHz. These pulses are reflected back by the surface of the medium and received as echoes by the transmitter. The time and distance required for the ultrasonic pulse to be transmitted and received are proportional, and therefore also proportional to the liquid level. The integrated temperature sensor detects the temperature of the storage tank and compensates for the impact of temperature on signal operation time. The measured liquid level is converted into an output signal and transmitted as a measurement value. If the shape of the storage tank is known, the volume of liquid in the tank can be displayed. Various interference echo filters even make the sensor suitable for containers with internal single components that produce interference echoes.
